Do you know which group of vitamins is mainly responsible for our energy?

Let me show you in the image where to find them

B Vitamin Group

The B vitamin group is made up of eight essential vitamins that play a key role in energy metabolism and the body's optimal functioning. These vitamins help the body convert food (carbohydrates, fats and proteins) into usable energy, which is vital for maintaining physical and mental vitality. They also support the nervous system by contributing to the production of neurotransmitters, essential for memory, concentration and mood regulation.

Each B vitamin has specific functions: for example, B1 (Thiamine) and B2 (Riboflavin) are fundamental for energy metabolism, B6 (Pyridoxine) supports red blood cell formation and brain function, while B12 (Cyanocobalamin) is essential for nerve health and DNA production.

Niacin (B3) and Pantothenic Acid (B5) are key for hormone production and cell repair, and Biotin (B7) strengthens hair, skin and nails.

Finally, Folic Acid (B9) is essential for red blood cell formation and cell development, especially during pregnancy.

Together, these vitamins not only keep the body running at its best, but also protect overall health and promote mental wellbeing.

1. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Vitamin B1 is essential for energy metabolism, as it helps the body convert carbohydrates into usable energy. It is fundamental for the proper functioning of the nervous and muscular systems. It also plays a key role in nerve signal transmission. Its deficiency can cause fatigue, muscle weakness and even neurological disorders such as beriberi.

2. Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Riboflavin takes part in energy production by helping to break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates. It is also crucial for eye health, skin and cell repair. Its deficiency can cause problems such as cracks at the corners of the mouth, dry skin and sensitivity to light.

3. Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

Niacin is vital for energy metabolism and DNA repair. It helps keep the skin, nervous system and digestive system in good condition. Its advanced form, nicotinamide riboside, is known for boosting NAD+ levels, which improves cellular energy and supports longevity. B3 deficiency can lead to pellagra, a condition characterised by dermatitis, diarrhoea and dementia.

Even one of the key molecules in the B group, B3, plays a fundamental role in many vital functions. In LifeXpan NR Puro we've harnessed its power, using B3 in its Nicotinamide Riboside form to boost cellular energy and promote longevity.

4. Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)

Pantothenic acid is crucial for the production of coenzyme A, a molecule that helps metabolise fats and carbohydrates into energy. It also plays a role in the synthesis of hormones and neurotransmitters. Its deficiency is rare, but can cause fatigue, headaches and numbness.

5. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

B6 is involved in more than 100 enzymatic reactions, including those that produce neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. It is essential for the immune system and red blood cell formation. Its deficiency can cause anaemia, irritability, confusion and weakness.

6. Vitamin B7 (Biotin)

Biotin helps break down fats, carbohydrates and proteins into energy. It is also known for improving the health of hair, skin and nails. Its deficiency can cause hair loss, skin rashes and muscle weakness.

7. Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid)

Folic acid is vital for red blood cell formation and cell development, especially during pregnancy. It also helps prevent neural tube defects in babies. Its deficiency can cause megaloblastic anaemia, fatigue and problems in foetal development.

8. Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin)

B12 is essential for red blood cell formation, DNA synthesis and the health of the nervous system. It is one of the few vitamins the body cannot produce itself, so it must be obtained through diet or supplements. Its deficiency can lead to pernicious anaemia, weakness and neurological problems.

What I can tell you is that we've included all of these and more in LifeXpan Essentials Optimal
